What It Is
An SES featured climbing wheel featuring the latest in ENVE brake track technology.
Who it's for
Climbing specialists seeking a wheelset that inspires confidence regardless of terrain or weather conditions.
Why we made it
To give you every advantage when riding through mountainous terrain and unpredictable weather conditions.
The Smart ENVE System 2.2 is the ultimate climbing wheel with aerodynamic properties that refine stability in the most extreme wind and weather conditions. As such, lightweight trumps drag reduction with the SES 2.2. The SES 2.2 underwent in-frame development in the Mercedes GP-Petronas wind tunnel in order to define the final shape of the rim. Unlike the other SES wheelsets, the SES 2.2 features the same rim geometry front to rear. In terms of tire fitment, the SES 2.2 is developed to be used with 25mm tires and the clincher version of the rims is tubeless compatible. Because the SES 2.2 is designed to be ridden through the mountains, it was important to improve the performance levels of our molded brake track texture technology. As such, the SES 2.2 is the first SES rim to feature our new molded-in brake track texture. This new brake track texture improves braking performance by as much as 30% over the previous brake track and performs as well in wet conditions as it does in dry. Each SES 2.2 wheelset includes 2 pair of our new black brake pads which have been specially formulated to improve braking power, modulation, and wet weather performance. The combination of the new brake track and black brake pad compound delivers the ultimate in rim brake technology.

What It Is
A climbing wheel with an aero advantage designed to be ridden in the mountains.
Who it's for
Road cyclists who require maximum versatility for riding in mountainous terrain and variable weather conditions.
Why we made it
Since the introduction of the original SES 3.4, we’ve implemented new design concepts across the SES lineup that result in a faster wheel and improved ride experience. The SES 3.4 features road tubeless compatibility, 25mm tire optimization, molded carbon brake track technology, and optimized SES aero rim shaping to ensure maximum efficiencies for a shallow aero wheel. Equally at home in the mountains as in the valleys, the SES 3.4 is the most versatile Smart ENVE System aero wheel. Like all SES wheel models, the SES 3.4 features dissimilar rim shapes and geometries between the front and back wheels to maximize aerodynamic efficiency and rideability in variable wind and weather conditions. The front rim is 38mm deep and shallower than the rear rim to aid in crosswind stability while rear rim is 42mm deep and therefore improves overall airflow. For riding in mountainous terrain where heavy braking is required, the SES 3.4 features a high-temperature-resistant resin system and ENVE's molded-in brake track technology to ensure rim integrity and precision braking when and where it is needed most.

Experienced triathletes and road racers seeking maximum aero performance and stability.
Why We Made It
We made the SES 7.8 to achieve two things: more speed and more stability. The SES 7.8 embodies the latest SES technologies and includes our newest molded-in brake track and tubeless clincher tire compatibility. The SES 7.8 is wider and specifically optimized to perform best when used with a modern aero frame and large, 25mm tires.
Full Details
When the race is against the wind and the clock the SES 7.8 is optimized for the task. By reducing the trade-offs between aerodynamics, stability, weight, and stiffness, the SES 7.8 carbon fiber aero wheel is the perfect tool for road racing and triathlon alike. The SES 7.8 features front- and rear-specific rim geometries. The front rim is 71mm deep and 29mm wide, while the rear rims is 80mm deep and 27.5mm wide. The dissimilar rim geometries improve the efficiency of the airflow in the system of bike frame and wheels. Because running 25mm tires is now standard, the SES 7.8 was designed with larger tires in mind. Additionally, frame manufacturers are now producing frames that have more clearance between wheel and frame which has opened up the design scope for a wheelset. The SES 7.8 is optimized for these frames. In addition to changes in shape and structure, the SES 7.8 features the latest molded-in carbon fiber brake track texture and is compatible with road tubeless tires.

1,240 grams is obscenely lightweight when it comes to mountain bike wheelsets—the kind of weight that XC racers dream about—but light weight alone is no longer enough on today’s aggressive XC tracks. So, we sweated all the details and engineered the new Control SL Team LTD wheels to be sharp handling, smooth-riding, extra durable, and less prone to pinch flats. Oh yeah, they’re also some of the lightest production wheels on the planet.
We didn’t pull any punches creating the Control SL Team LTD. Built around the lightest hubs Roval has ever made, its completely new rim design with a 29mm internal width provides a better tire profile for improved traction and ride quality. An all-new bead-hook design with wider hooks results in a flat profile that not only offers greater impact strength by distributing impact force over a larger area but also increases the impact force needed to pinch flat by 22 percent. Finally, offset spokes and an asymmetric rim profile paired with two-cross lacing not only provides a better bracing angle for increased lateral stiffness but allows for the use of a single spoke length across the entire wheelset.
The end result is a featherweight XC race wheel that excels everywhere from the racecourse to the backcountry. Incredibly low weight matched with above-category toughness and durability, razor-sharp handling, and exceptional ride quality brings out the very best in modern mountain bike performance. Available in very limited numbers, the Control SL Team LTD is meticulously hand-built and finished with a special graphic treatment.
- Rim Type: Carbon clincher, 2Bliss Ready, Zero Bead Hook 4mm FlatTop design. Cobalt Blue Metallic graphic under clear coat.
- Rim Width: 29mm internal
- Roval Engineered Control SL hubshells have a single spoke length for each wheelset.
- Bearing Type: SiNC Ceramic Sealed cartridge
- Assembly Method: Hand-built

What It Is
The G23 is the definition of a true gravel wheelset. At 330 grams, ENVE's lightest 700c tubeless rim accelerates quickly and ascends with ease. Armed against pinch flats with the patent-pending Wide Hookless Bead, the G23 is tough and relentless on road, path, or trail. The G23 is a 700c tubeless carbon clincher wheelset with a generous 23mm internal width, specifically conceived to meet the performance and ride quality demands of serious mixed-surface cyclists.
Who It's For
Created for those seeking to discover new experiences, new terrain, and new challenges. Built to reflect the versatility of today's gravel and mixed surface riders, these wheels will excite ambitious, daring, and indomitable riders everywhere. If your path leads to classics like Dirty Kanza, Landrun, Crusher in the Tushar, or a new wave of events like Grinduro or Lost and Found, the G23 is your wheel.
Why We Made It
There is a place between road and mountain that is open to discovery. Beyond the range of your trail bike or the capabilities of your road bike. Terrain littered with contradicting challenges and demanding requirements are at odds with the bikes and products available today. We built the new G23 to thrive in this new environment, because insights gained through building the world's best road and mountain bike rims told us that the perfect combination did not exist in our stable, or in our opinion, anywhere at all. The higher volume and lower pressures would demand MTB toughness and flat resistance, while big days and long miles would require the lightweight and efficiency of a road machine. Above all, the combination of rough and rigid would require a wheel with the ride quality to make those long miles enjoyable and multi-day treks possible.

What It Is
The definitive mountain wheel. The M6 Series defines the modern and varied interpretation of the mountain bike. Loaded with traction and acceleration on the climb, it's also backed with precision and control while absorbing vibrations and impacts on the descent. The M6 Series is designed in two diameters and three widths to ensure your sophisticated preference for tire size and pressure is met with an uncompromising tire-to-rim interface.
Who It's For
The mountain biker who wonders what is possible, the skeptic afraid of "plastic" wheels, the weight weenie, the Clydesdale, the high-mileage guy, the weekend warrior. It would be easier to describe who it is not for…
Why We Made It
ENVE showed the world that a mountain bike wheel could be carbon — we're still immensely proud of that achievement. A mountain bike wheel, however, can be so much more. The M6 Series is not about technical challenges, and we refuse to chase specifications in order to be the widest, tallest, or stiffest. For the M6 Series of wheels, the question was not about carbon, rather, "What is the potential of a mountain bike wheel?"
Each M6 Series wheel model is designed for the broad range of tire widths, hub configurations, and sizes so that you, the modern trail rider, can choose between them.

This wheel is the future of gravity riding and racing. It's ride-optimized, incredibly strong, and debuts the most effective and lightest anti-flat system on the market (ENVE's patent-pending Protective Rim Strip). These wheels will give downhill-oriented riders a new freedom to set their tire pressure for cornering and rock garden stability without sacrificing their confidence to smash track speeds.
Who It's For
Gravity junkies, Enduro racers, and hard-charging trail riders will find enlightenment riding the M7 Series. A completely new shape and design that massively reduces the risk of pinch flatting and/or damaging the carbon, the M7 Series provides the confidence to ride without limitations.
Why We Made It
Enduro runs on two things – Confidence and Control. Nothing ruins a good shred fest like a flat tire or broken rim, and nothing spooks you on a dusty trail like an unexpected drift. With this in mind, we have been hard at work over the past 2 years to develop a carbon wheel system that will allow ourselves, athletes, and most importantly – you – to go "full-send" without compromising the ride experience by running high tire pressures, DH tires, and heavy pinch flat reduction inserts.
Building upon the platform of the M7 Series' predecessor the M70, we re-profiled the rim to mate up with modern tires and to absorb trail vibrations and chatter. However, just fitting tires is not enough. We know that riders also want the freedom to run lower pressure and that doing so can introduce flat tires and damaged rims. The ENVE solution is a new rim shape paired with ENVE's patent-pending, energy-absorbing Protective Rim Strip. With this technology, riders can skip the inserts and run the tires and pressures they want. Amazingly, we've managed to keep the weight neutral and improve impact resistance too.

The ultimate disc brake-specific, aerodynamic, lightweight road race wheelset.
Who It's For
The SES 5.6 Disc is optimized aerodynamically and structurally for disc use. Road cyclists and triathletes on disc brake bikes will benefit from the SES 5.6 Disc's reduced drag, lightweight design, and rim shape optimized for larger-volume road tires.
Why We Made It
Most "disc brake" wheelsets are simply repurposed rim brake wheels with disc hubs. The elimination of a braking surface opens up the realm of aerodynamic and structural possibilities. When you don't have to engineer a flat braking surface and manage high temperatures from braking, you can reduce the rim's weight, adjust shape for improved aerodynamics and provide better tubeless performance.
Full Details
Disc brake technology offers improved braking performance for amateur and professional road cyclists alike. Carbon fiber braking surfaces are a major design constraint that limits weight savings and rim design. By removing the constraints of a braking surface, we can completely rethink the shape of the rim. The SES 5.6 Disc features patented SES rim curvature, but has been further optimized for disc brakes. Additionally, the SES 5.6 Disc carbon fiber clinchers and tubulars are very lightweight, because the material used for rim brake heat management has been eliminated. This allows for a more structurally efficient and impact-resistant rim. Finally, the SES 5.6 Disc carbon clincher is road tubeless-compatible and can still be run with standard inner tubes and tires. Like the current generation SES carbon clinchers and tubulars, the 5.6 Disc has been aerodynamically optimized around 25mm tires.

Making up about 50% of your total race time, the bike portion of a triathlon is where equipment choices can make the difference between first and fifth, and no other equipment choice will save you more time than a disc wheel. While traditionally-shaped disc wheels are faster than their spoked counterparts, the Roval 321 Disc for disc brakes turns conventional design on its head, creating the fastest wheel on the planet.
Disc wheels often fall into two categories—a completely flat shape, with structure coming from carbon fiber and a honeycomb-foam filling, or a spoked wheel that's been faired with a carbon fiber cover. In our quest to break traditions, the 321 uses a single layer of 1k carbon fiber on each side of the wheel, and it all comes together at the brake track bridge. This kind of carbon fiber is rarely used in bicycle components due to its high manufacturing cost, but it offers a bevy of performance benefits. This coveted carbon is much lighter than other layups, like 3k and 12k, and it can only be laid by the most skilled of carbon fiber craftsmen. It's complicated, but the payout is worth it, as it delivers a supple ride and one of the lightest disc wheels available. And in the real world, this means that it'll spin-up quickly and reduce fatigue over the length of the course.
Stiffness is often the “hot-topic” in the disc wheel world, but we think it’s an interesting conversation. It's long been thought that efficient power transfer and high stiffness are directly correlated, but through extensive field-testing, we've determined that this isn't the case at all. In fact, our initial disc was so stiff that, under power, it wouldn't flex with the frame and this caused brake rub. This wrongly creates the perception of a flexy wheel, when really, the wheel is actually too stiff. In order to solve the brake rub problem, we first designed our optimal aero shape and then worked on our internal stiffness targets to fit within what we consider to be a desirable frame stiffness.
And while light overall weight was a development priority, our focus was aerodynamics. Through hours of Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and testing in the Win Tunnel, we developed a never-before-seen shape that's optimized to work with a tire for on-bike airflow. What this translates to is an all-carbon disc wheel that, on the non-drive-side, has a shape that's as aerodynamic as our current understanding allows, and a drive-side shape that's as aerodynamic as the wheel-dish and derailleur clearance will allow for.

While there may be a linear relationship between increased tire size and increased fun, this relationship only holds true when wider tires are paired with the correct width rims. Having a 2.8", or high-volume, tire mated to a narrow rim makes for a squirmy, poor handling experience, and when you’re on the hunt for additional fun, these characteristics are undesirable. Lucky for you, the new age of traction, stability, and speed has arrived—and its name is the Traverse 38 SL Fattie 27.5.
Along with light overall weight, stiffness, and durability, another top priority for the Traverse SL was ease of use. First off, we got rid of the creaky straight-pull spokes and corrosion-prone alloy nipples. Next up, we landed on 28 J-bend spokes, for front and rear wheels, that are all the same length—making it easy to find replacements if needed. And finally, we engineered a new hub design, with a wider profile and higher flange to aid in overall stiffness.
While our 38-millimeter Traverse SL is already wider than most offerings, the benefits of three-inch tires become more apparent with a proper rim interface. In search for the proper width, our engineers tested various iterations, from 30 to 45 millimeters, to determine where the sweet spot lies. What they ended up with is a 38-millimeter internal rim width that turns the Traverse 38 SL Fatties into descending machines.
A wide internal rim width endows riders with a variety of advantages that are exemplified even more with plus-sized tires. The extra width allows for more tire volume, translating into more supple ride qualities, and better support for the tire, meaning that you'll experience less "burping" when riding tubeless and a drastic increase in traction. After determining the proper rim width for the plus-sized application, we began designing the rim using the same low-weight, high-strength technologies used in the Traverse SL and the Control SL. With this, we started with our Zero Bead Hook design that effectively eliminates the biggest weak spot found in traditional rims, and topped it off by using high-modulus carbon fiber to keep the weight down. And to further this theme, the wheels also include the Roval tubeless plug system, which sheds an additional 50 grams-per-wheel compared to a rim strip
Each Traverse 38 SL Fattie is hand-built to our own alloy hubs with DT Swiss Competition Race spokes. Inside our hubs, you'll find sealed cartridge bearings all-around, and a quick-engaging 54t DT Swiss star ratchet system in the rear that allows you to power over rocks and roots without delay. And while machines do a decent job of building wheels, we choose professionally trained humans to build ours, as they catch various flaws that a machine would otherwise miss.

Trail wheels often fall into two categories—they’re either heavy and durable or light and flexy. And because of this, a lightweight, wide-profile, and enduro-ready carbon wheel seems like something only found in a fairytale, but lucky for you, we made it a reality. The Traverse SL Fattie 27.5 puts all the flick'able, nimble features you need in an all-mountain wheel into one package, and it has the results to prove it.
Along with light overall weight, stiffness, and durability, another top priority for the Traverse SL was ease of use. First off, we got rid of the creaky straight-pull spokes and corrosion-prone alloy nipples. Next up, we landed on 28 J-bend spokes, for both the front and rear wheels, that are all the same length—making it easy to find replacements if needed. And finally, we engineered a new hub design, with a wider profile and higher flange to aid in overall stiffness.
What's with the big-boned name, you ask? The Traverse SL Fatties may be wide, but with a 30mm inner rim width, they’re far from the girth of a fat bike rim. But let's talk width. You've probably noticed that mountain bike rim widths have hovered between 19 and 23 millimeters for decades, and they've been long overdue for a change. In the search for a better wheel design, our engineers began testing 2.3- to 2.5-inch tires on 45-millimeter-wide fat bike rims to see what, if any, benefits could be found. It only took them a few rides to realize that the wider rims offered a variety of advantages, like adding additional tire volume, which better supports the tires in hard cornering, greatly improves traction because of the ability to run lower pressures, and noticeably increases rim stiffness. They did note that there is an occurrence of diminishing returns with increasing width, however, and after testing everything from 25 to 45mm, determined that a 30mm inner width is optimal.
After determining the width, we began designing the rim using the knowledge that we gained when developing the Control SL. With this, we started with our Zero Bead Hook technology that gets rid of the weak spot found in a traditional wheel, and combined it with the wider profile to make a carbon rim that effectively dissipates forces. This way, you can take abuse from rocks without the worry of cracks or dents. Ok, so they’re strong, impact-resistant, and tire supporting—they must be heavy, right? Wrong. Even though “fattie” is in their name, they're far from fat.
To achieve this weight, we hand-build our rims to our own alloy hubs, using only the highest quality DT Swiss Competition Race spokes. Inside our hubs, you'll find DT Swiss 240 internals with a quick engaging 54t DT Swiss star ratchet system in the rear that allows you to power over rocks and roots without delay. And while machines do a pretty good job of building wheels, we choose professionally trained humans because they do so with an artistic touch that makes for minimal flaws.
Whether you need a carbon wheelset to get you through an enduro stage or one to shred your local rock garden, the Traverse SL Fattie has you covered.

First came our CLX 64. Then the 32s. And after racking up multiple wins in Grand Tours, Worlds, and everything in between, we knew that our best bet was to take the line to new heights, or well, new depths. We needed to design one wheel that was a true quiver killer. One wheel that had all the aerodynamic benefits of the 64 in a package that climbed like the 32, and that’s where the all-new CLX 50 comes in.
When we set out to create the CLX 50 Disc, we had clear goals in mind—create wheels that are 48 to 54mm deep, aerodynamically optimized, ultra-wide, and under 1400 grams. This meant that they'd have to borrow some weight savings techniques that we developed for the CLX 32, take some aero guidance from the CLX 64, and keep all of the disc brake benefits that we've come to love if we were going to create what we like to call “the unicorn wheel."
Why discs you ask? With our disc-specific rims, we ditch the brake track making for a stronger, more impact-resistant rim. This way, you get a disc-specific carbon layup that optimizes stiffness, a weight as close to its rim-brake brethren as possible, and incredible brake modulation and power in all conditions.
Even though the CLX 50 is similar in weight to many wheels in the “lightweight” category, aerodynamics came at the forefront of the development. With this, we jumped headlong into Computational Fluid Dynamics computer modeling to arrive at various rim shapes that could make the CLX 50 as fast and light as possible. It took a while, but we narrowed the rim shape down to three contenders that were then CNC-machined into rims, built into wheels, and put into the Win Tunnel. In the tunnel, we tested every wheel, ours and the competition's, with a 24C tire (measuring 26C), as tires can drastically affect testing. We chose a modern-width tire to design our rims around because they not only allow for less tire pressure (which results in more comfort and less rolling resistance) but are also just as aerodynamically efficient when paired with the correct rim width.
After finding the optimized rim shape that best supported our svelte weight requirements, we opted to lace the rims to our Aero Flange (AF) hub, via 24 DT Swiss Aerolite spokes, which features the legendary CeramicSpeed bearings. This way you get a complete, superior wheel system—not just a quick rim. And at the end of the day, it all amounts to a 50mm-deep, 770-gram rear wheel that's not only significantly lighter than the competition’s similar depth wheel, but is also measurably faster in every conceivable test than each wheel in its category.

It’s not often that “affordable” and “carbon” appear in the same sentence, but our Control 29 Carbon wheelset was designed to change that. Utilizing many of the same techniques used in the development of the SL iteration of the Control 29, these wheels provide the lightweight XC performance you need at a more attainable price.
Creating a successful XC wheelset isn't as easy as you might think. Often times, keeping a wheel light, stiff, and strong requires an unlimited budget. So when we were asked to create a wheel that had low inertia and weight, but was also affordable, strong enough to take on rocks and roots, and wide enough to optimize traction and rolling resistance, we knew that we had our work cut out for us.
We started with the notion of keeping these wheels as close to their SL brethren as possible. And with this, we explored what made the SLs so awesome in the first place, and then we implemented nearly every aspect of them. Starting with the rim, we kept our renowned Zero Hook Bead that allows for continuous fiber layup across the sidewall and rim bed. We then paired it with a wide 25-millimeter internal profile that makes it resilient to impact and creates a tire profile that’s conducive to low rolling resistance and incredible traction.
On the trail, these technical traits translate to a wheelset that many XC riders have grown to love—quick accelerations on punchy climbs, swift stopping that lets you leave braking till the last second, and unprecedented reliability. Combine this with the easy to set up our 2Bliss Ready system and you have a reliable XC wheelset that’s as easy to climb on as it is to work on.
To go along with the rim, we made sure to keep the lightweight, reliable, and affordable features in mind when building the wheelset, so we took DT Swiss 350 Classic hubs (15x110mm thru-axle front / 12x148mm thru-axle rear) and hand-laced them with 28 DT Swiss Competition Race spokes. Finding hand-built wheels is becoming more and more difficult, but we're fully invested in the power of the human touch. When a wheel is machine-built, there are certain margins of error that are built into the system that result in inconsistencies. With a real person building your wheels, however, you're sure to get a wheelset that's free of imperfections.

Developed in Specialized's Win Tunnel, and designed to interface with the world’s fastest tire, the S-Works Turbo, the Roval CLX 64 Disc is one of the fastest disc brake road race wheel/tire system ever developed. The SCS hub allows for a proper chainline on short chainstay performance road and 'cross bikes. This wheel system comes complete with the S-Works Turbo tire which measures 24mm wide for enhanced stability and traction in corners and on descents. This rear wheel uses an AFD1 SCS Center Lock aero hub that's compatible with a QR or 12mm thru-axle.

Learning from our very successful EWS riders, we designed the rims for the EXC 1200 SPLINE 30 to be tough enough for everything the best in the sport can throw at them yet light enough to spin all day. And, they're the right width to accommodate today's high-volume enduro tires. This rim is complemented by our completely new top-end Ratchet System hubs which maintain the lightweight theme, as do the bladed and butted straight-pull spokes. The result is any enduro rider's dream wheel: Peace-of-mind in the downhills and enough breath for a chat on the climbs.

With our disc-specific rims, we ditch the brake track, making for a stronger, more impact-resistant rim.
After finding the optimized rim shape that best supported our svelte weight requirements, we opted to lace the rims to our Aero Flange (AF) hub, via 21 DT Swiss Aerolite spokes, which features the legendary CeramicSpeed bearings. This way you get a complete, superior wheel system—not just a quick rim. And at the end of the day, it all amounts to a 50mm-deep, 1415-gram clincher disc wheelset that's not only ~300 grams lighter than the competition’s similar depth wheel, but is also measurably faster in every conceivable test than each wheel in its category.
